Not sure about those strange 'On the beach' adverts.

I don't like the Virgin advert with the seal in it and the man who acts a bit weird.

8O It takes quite a bit of clarity when suffering the 'Peleton' advert with the viewer expected to believe that by stressing in front of a pre-programmed tablet with some 'poser' prancing on the screen......but lets take a step back to review this...!
In order to even consider this TV advert.....1st you have to purchase a custom exercise bike (say £600), 2nd you have to purchase a reasonable computer tablet (say £600), and finally the actual programme for the tablet (say £100)....so before you begin to try to lose weight via Peleton your wallet is already some £1300 lighter......before you pedal...! :?

....And why do you like working for Amazon???? Somebody out there must be able to create a spoof for this. ' And why do you have to work for Amazon?'
1. I just love zero hours contracts, 2. 'I have a family to support and cannot get any other work in the area'
I'm sure that this work does suit some people, but the ad stinks of propaganda, especially the invite to tour.
Or am I just an auld cynic?

I'm going nuts trying to find an old advert on-line. It was 70's/ early 80's, an advert for Scottish beer and ended with a barman saying to a "swatching the stripper in a bar top mirror punter"* "oooh ya crafty devil!"

*the guy had turned down the opportunity to rush to the stage and was supposedly more than happy at the bar appreciating his pint.
Glasgow ya bas!

No no, you're quite right.

Amazon is a hellish place to work. All the full time permanent guys get these nice wee perks, but the lowly temps get the shitty end of the stick every time.

The thing that annoys me most about the ad, is the wee woman enthusing about "Donna's cakes".
You're not allowed to take food onto the warehouse floor - you can just about get away with a bar of chocolate or a cereal bar - but not a cupcake.

It seems Amazon staff may have to work overtime due to virus causing a spike in demand.

I did wonder if tour of Amazon premises was to help their image after some of the stories doing the rounds a while ago.
I think there were allegations of staff getting sacked if they took four days off without a doctor's sick note.
There were also rumours that ambulances were called out a number of times to a warehouse in 2016.

I can only speak about what I saw at the GLA1 warehouse in Gourock. There was an incident in late 2016 where an ambo was called because one of the young ladies who worked in the kitchens scalded herself quite badly.

But I did read of a case from the US, where a temp worker with diabetes and a heart condition had a heart attack in the middle of his shift.
It was ten minutes before someone thought to alert security to call for a first aider.
A further ten before the first aider decided it was beyond his capabilities and to call paramedics.
Fifteen minutes for the paramedics to arrive, and a further fifteen before they got sorted out with temporary ID and were escorted by security to the casualty.

Meanwhile, other workers in the area are all but stepping over the poor bugger in order to get stuff off the shelves and meet their targets.

Eventually the paramedics bundle him into the back of their wagon and take him to hospital, but he sadly dies en route.

There then followed a lengthy legal battle between the guy's widow and Amazon.
Amazon passing the buck by saying "He was temporary worker, employed by such-and-such recruitment agency, nothing to do with us."
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Those annoying IONOS adverts where people are at awards ceremony.
Someone standing addressing audience but the person being thanked is on the end of the phone and not in the room.

And again, Amazon ads. Four of them I've counted so far.

I'm wiling to be proved wrong, but I genuinely think none of the featured employees actually work for Amazon and are just actors.

They're meant to be Team Leads and Managers, but A: They're not moving fast enough, and B: They don't look stressed enough.

If they're as busy as they claim they are - equivalent to Christmas in a normal year - then all the Managers and Team Leads are somewhere between Headless Chicken and Cat with Firework Up Arse for stress.
