Southside Cyclists

Postby Sharon » Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:30 pm

The sun has been shining, so I have started to contemplate an evening cycle rather than an indoors spin class!

Are there any HG southside cyclists who would fancy going out for an hour or two cycling on a sunny evening?

Not absolutely on topic, but I'd like to go to Lochgilphead, hire a bike and cycle the nine miles of the Crinan Canal towpath.

Something I've decided to get back into, since I'm horrendously unfit. Last time I was on a bike I went from Partick to Shortlees in Kilmarnock, and haven't been on a bike since, 4 years ago or something now.

I'm afraid I'll be going solo for now, I'd hold you back I fear.

Well this search isn't going too well!!

Mr L, I am no speed demon and nervous in town...so there would be no danger of holding me back!!!

Ronnie, that sounds like a nice summers day trip :)

Surely, there must be some relatively local to shawlands peeps with bikes!!????

The Crinan Canal route is spectacular. I haven't cycled it but have walked it several times.

I will be back there in October and can't wait.

Thanks, Foss, but who's he talking about? Time for the rubber hammer, I think. Mods, the screens!

Some hitherto-unseen term for 'bumped'? (Ding - guid Scots word.)
