Arrgh! Whose idea was it to bring back the Fleetwood Mac tune as the theme music? How dull.

What we need is Satriani's Back to Shalla-Bal or even Motörhead's Ace of Spades.

Motor racing is exciting and dangerous. It should not be heralded by an insipid hippy tune old enough to be someone's grandad.

I hear you but I have to say that from a marketting continuity point of view it is pretty good. The last time it was the theme tune was before the 10 years of adverts ruining the spectacle. So when I hear it it pricks up the 'ohh ad free motor racing' hairs on my neck.

Ahh I think that answers why my brain was telling me Lewis Hamilton pissed the workers in Killie off. He DID visit but he didn't bring his car and do a few donuts.

Awaiting being corrected.

I remember this proposal many years ago too, i think RFC Chairman - David Murray was involved with this scheme also.

Scottish Formula 1 Grand Prix?

Saturday 30 September 2006 | Written by Richard Brunton | Motorsport | Comments (6)

A long time ago, when I was much younger, I remember there being some talk of an attempt to get a Scottish Formula 1 Grand Prix going, and if my flaky memory serves me right Jackie Stewart was involved in the attempt somewhere.
The plan was to try and get some world class F1 track near Edinburgh and explode tourism. Yet it never got the backing it needed and it failed, probably because it would then start competing with the British Grand Prix which has always been held in England. Now though Scotland has its own government, couldn't we give this a go again

knockhill hosts touring cars and superbikes, surely it could be upgraded and expanded to host f1

Knockhill is the obvious choice, I raced at Ingleston and it doesn't cut the mustard. I reckon a city race might be nice, shame Edinburgh is installing a toy trainset because Princess Street would hvae made a nice straight.

On a more immediate note, todays race is one of the best I've seen in ages.

Brunton makes two elementary mistakes

1) Scotland doesn't have a government; it has an executive.

2) The Scottish Executive hasn't got any money (thank fuck!).
238 to 127. All in all a good afternoon's work

Back on topic

Jenson Button won today, I didn't expect it but he did play an inspired move on Hamilton early on so very well done.

Now am I to spectate or support, spectating is great but it doesn't bring me off me seat to shout at my tele

I'm toying - new, old. Should I back a newb or should I back a man. New money goes on Vettel, Old money is divided support on what they actually do for the sport, Webber, Button, Barrichello?? They bring alot, they do alot so I think I'll side with maturity. Lets see - this season is about choice for me.
