It just drives me mental when I hear somebody say " I,m starving" . Absoluty banned in my house.

I must disagree! The use of "how" instead of "why" is what distinguishes us from the lesser spotted Sassenach!
Besides, gonny no dae that would just not scan with "why no" instead of "how no".

Has anyone said "WMD" yet? Its use is dying out to be fair but it still gets ma goat.

Also, politicians who are asked a perfectly straightforward question that requires a yes or no, and reply "What I would say is...."

P.S. Did you like the segue I just laid out for the next person who hates "To be fair" and "In all fairness"? I'm a generous soul.

Jodieohdoh, I can't comment on the words you find annoying, but where the heck did you dig up this "segue"... I couldn't make up my mind whether or not it was a typo, but even if it had been, I couldn't figure out what you could have intended to use in the first place! Oh, isn't HG a great place for learning... good stuff Jodieohdoh!

segue= To move smoothly from one state, or condition into to another... I'd never have guessed!
