It's a sad reflection on Glasgow life that some Rangers 'fans' will find some solace in that after last night's drubbing.

I hope your wrong about this onyi. I know a lot of so called rangers 'fans' and they have never had a bad word to say about Tam.He was just a nice guy

Here's some words from the LEGEND

"I think the saddest thing about the Old Firm rivalry is the people who have lost their lives after these games in the past, for such stupid reasons," he once said.

"This is football. I remember Jock Stein always said that: it's just a game.

"To think that people can go out with hatred in their heart and take away people's sons or brothers or fathers is just beyond belief. That's the way I think about it now: it's only a game.

"Educate the kids to integrate with one another and not pay any attention to who's a Catholic and who's a Protestant, and any of that rubbish.

"Just go out there, support your team, make good friends and get on with your lives."

Being a Rangers fan myself this adds the sad feelings I have today, Tommy was a good man, a Gentleman in fact as well as a great servant to his club. My thoughts go out to his family. I know a lot of my fellow Rangers supporters feel the same about Tommy.

This sad news puts everything into perspective it is only a game and the two halfs should join together to pay respect to him.

A very sad day indeed

RIP :(

I just heard on Radio Scotland that a bunch of Rangers fans headed straight to Celtic Park off the train from Manchester to pay their respects.

Absolutely gutted, Tommy Burns was a shining example of a human being and a superb player. His poor family.

im as saddened about this as i was about phil o`donnells death and im a rangers fan , the ones who take solace in his death are the idiots who went on the rampage in manchester, most of the true fans have respect for our green and white cousins and vice versa ,only thing that shocks me truely is i thought he was winning his cancer battle

Every Rangers supporter on the bus I traveled on back from Manchester was absolutely saddened to hear of Tommy Burns tragic death. In my eyes a real good Christian and family man.
Thank you. And why not.

I think with plkayers like TB, he will be missed no matter who he played for/who you support he was an ambassador to the game, and from what i think a great guy too.

RIP Tommy.

Best player I've ever watched in the stripes, a Celtic great and a Killie legend.
Thanks for the memories Tommy (especially this one http://youtube.com/watch?v=RviW4ZEmEkQ).
