Anyone know where to buy unusual TFT monitor power cables?

Postby cheesemonster » Wed Mar 19, 2008 3:36 pm

more specifically a cable/psu for:

manufacturer: SAMPO
model no. PD80A
Part. No PD80A11D
Manufactured: Dec 2002
Rating: 12V, 3.5A
Serial no. 47520249KY00552

It is a 4 pin mini DIN connection (S-Video), not a conventional monitor connection. I've tried a few places and had no luck so far.

Sorry I can't help you mate but if anyone knows where I can pick up a mains lead for an i-mac G4, (weird 3 pronged Cloverleaf one) I would be most grateful.

Cheers Alex.

Post pictures. Virtually no tech cables are proprietary these days. Boxes and boxes of wires in the crypt at work... Something must fit.

Does is look like 3 circles when you look end on? A bit like the Olympic logo with the two end circles knocked off?

Edit - I have just googled and it is called a clover-leaf socket. I have a few spare if you want to call me?

Have just edited the orginal post as i've realised that its technical name is a '4 pin mini DIN' connection (the same as S-Video) which isn't what is displayed on the ebay page but i'll email the guy to see if the picture is for illustrative purposes

Apple aren't the only company who use that cable, I found out recently to my surprise. I had always presumed it was a proprietary lead. I once had to pinch one from a Toshiba projector to power a Mac Mini.

They're available from lots of places, like here:
http://www.applemacparts.co.uk/store/pr ... s_id=63743

only 4 quid.

They are commonly used on Dell and IBM / Lenovo laptop adapters too. I am seeing them more and more now.
