Oh now really, the bloody thing has been playing unedited for 20 years, and suddenly this year someone gets uppity about two words....

With all the publicity this will generate for the Fairytale of New York, perhaps sales will go up and stop that wee non entity Leon becoming Number 1.

I find this amazing. I was listening to radio one today and during every news bulletin (every half hour at points) they would tell you about the ban, telling you exactly what words were banned. So, the banned words were repeated on Radio 1 today a hell of a lot more often than if they had just left the song alone in the first place.

Radio 1 make U-turn.

Should of just left it alone like all other BBC radio and television stations

I really really don't like the 'other F-word', and have good reason not to if you get my drift, but for feck's sake it's only a song and it's pretty obviously not meant maliciously. I'm far more offended by the spectacle of some feeble-minded, patronising git acting as moral arbiter than I am by what is, after all, possibly The Only Decent Christmas Song In The World Ever. Oh, and it only serves to justify bigoted fuckwits in their belief that all gay fellas throw hissy fits at the tiniest perceived slight. Well done, ya trumpets. "Happy Christmas your arse..."
