Just for the record, I voted yes and have been to America twice, however I was well aware of the concept from EVERY tv show EVER. FACT.

i'd heard of it but wasn't sure what was meant by it. till one day on neighbours toadfish was making himself one and informed whoever was next to him that the yanks mean jam and not what we call jelly

its a well known concept

I too have eaten one but am not a fan, suppose it depends on whether you prefer Crunchy to Smooth Peanut Butter and what flavour Jam.

I've never been to America either but have seen and heard it on many tv shows and especially kids American cartoons.

There's even the famous Peanut Butter Jelly Time Song which has been parodied many times:->Click Me<

Even in Family Guy:-

I find it hard enough to get to grips with the concept of peanut butter as a substance, let alone eat it with jam.

You could always try the Elvis, though. Yum.

Some flavours (or should that be flavors since its a US concept) work better than others, apple being a favourite of mine

Well my diagnosis is that I am still in the clear; I don't watch too much telly. yay!

Peanut butter is impossible to identify as something that should be eaten, so to take the step of adding jam to such a thing is beyond me!

Jelly isn't the American word for jam, there's a difference.
I remember reading this on a website documenting attempts to nail jelly to a board.

Well, it's a clear Jam - with no seeds, or fruit or pulp or bits. Not entirely sure what we call that in the UK either.

I've never eaten said piece cos the smell of peanut butter gives me the boak, but I suspect it's eaten at least once in every series/sitcom to come out of the USA.
