Haven't drunk vodka for many many years although it was my tipple of choice for a while during the 1970's. My favourite brand was Wyborowa. I was introduced to it on a visit to Poland and brought a bottle back duty free, then discovered I could buy it in Glasgow.

Working the doors I've tasted a few 'speciality' vodkas in my time .. the strongest I have to say was "Balkan 176°" which was like quaffing the equivalent of aviation fuel although those colleagues of mine, of whom there are a few 'hardened' drinkers (dipsos in other words  ) say real Irish Poiteen is stronger still.

I wouldn't want to try it .. the 170 odd proof (88% alcohol) Balkan missile propellant was strong enough for me.

Nasty! 8O
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

When I was at University the Chemistry students used to make their own out of pure ethanol diluted with black label vodka. And a bit of red wine for colouring.

One glass and the power of speech left you, two and the legs did likewise.

Vodka is my favourite. Tried all the rest when I was younger (I'm 35) such as lager, Guinness, Heavy, cider, have recently been drinking red wine, but just find the hangovers tend to be killers with the old red biddy.
I find the better the vodka, the clearer the head in the morning (well, most of the time ::): ::): )
