How long to boil an egg to get a perfect soft boiled one?
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

How Does This Work Out?

Lets Say.. Wee Rab, Tam And Chloe's Car Broke Down 1am Secluded Backroad In The Highlands
No Mobile Between Them, Freezing Morning, Pitch Black. So They Decide To Walk To The Nearest
Main Road. On Walking Tam Noticed Lights In The Distance. On Walking Maybe Half Mile Further
Up The Road. They See A Sign For A Hotel "kingussie Inn Maybe?" So They Decide To Go And Use
Telephone If It Has In Hotel.
On Entering The Hotel The Trio Decide It Would Be Wiser Maybe Just To Rent A Room For The Rest
Of The Morning Then Phone. Weigh Up Recovery/Transport Options Later That Day.
At The Reception They Were Welcomed By A Tall Stouted Guy With Some Customer Care Skills
"Can I Help" Yes Rab Answers "How Much Would It Cost For One Room Today" Receptionist Replies
"Thirty Notes" They Decide That's Not To Bad As There Knacked So They Hand Over A Tenner Each.
The Porter Helps Them Up To The Room With Their Backpacks. The Stout Receptionist Notices That
He Has Overcharged The Trio By A Fiver..! Waiting On The Porter To Descend The Stairs, He Tells Him
"Take This Fiver And Give It Back To The Trio That You Helped "
The Porter. Angry As He Never Got Tipped For Helping Them Decides To Steal Two Quid For His Time.
And Gives Them A Quid Back Each!

So The Trio Paid 30 For The Room
Porter Gave Them 1 pound Back Each
So That Was Now The Trio Paying 9 Quid A Heid For The Room
3 x 9 = 27
Porter Stole 2 Quid
Oh Were Did The Missing Quid Go....
The Last Time I looked In The Mirror! I Was Still There......

Whatever happened to that wee fat plain looking lassie you'd sometimes see singing in the city centre?
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Maybe if you asked a third time, someone might point your description is not specific enough.

3x10=30
minus 2 stolen + 3 returned = 25

there is no missing pound ::):

My apologies.

This would have been around 15 or 20 years ago. She'd be in some public space in the city centre, top end of Buchanan Street on the steps of the Concert Hall more often than not, with a portable karaoke machine set up and she'd be singing away. She dressed in kind of "gypsy" clothes, long skirts and whatnot.

Very occasionally I'd see her outside the shopping centre in Greenock, but Glasgow seemed to be her main area.

She'd a fantastic voice as I recall.

If we get our independence next year, does that mean our shopkeepers can sneer at English banknotes and refuse to accept them?

In the unlikely event that the electorate vote to split from England, Wales and Northern Ireland Bank of England currency would be a safer bet than the confederacy bubble gum notes issued by the Bank of Salmond.
