Ripper Street last night was bloody good.

Still can't believe the BBC have decided to axe it. :(

Yes, I'm gutted. I've been enjoying that more than anything else on telly lately.

I can still hardly believe that the one from Robson & Jerome who isn't into fishing is now the excellent Bennet Drake.

It started slowly and I gave up on it after 2 or 3 episodes.

You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

It seems, and I'm prepared to listen to alternative views, that Freeview has been divested of most of the evening content it once enjoyed (BBC radio 2,3, 4,5 6 7,8 9 and Scotland) in order to make space for BBC Alba's 'Gaelic' content, much of which isn't Gaelic at all.

Does anyone actually understand what's going on here?

After months of complaining and being told it wasn't technically possible to have BBC Alba and the missing radio stations on Freeview all at the same time, it's happened.

BBC Radio Scotland's Newsdrive didn't go off air at 17.00 tonight and it's still broadcasting.

LUCAN was great, IMO. Most of all for Christopher Eccleston playing posho nasty James Aspinall.

I am getting the book it's based on.

Yes, he does "sinister" very well.

I am getting the book it's based on.

I'll keep an eye open for it next time I'm at the library.

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings: Carols and Caravans

I see that some of the families featured are now in Queensferry.
