Lucy Worsley's Night at the Opera, pt. 2.

There's just something about that woman that gives me the horn something terrible...
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Gunpowder Plot was the viewing of choice for this household.

Reminded me of the quote during all the elections of the past few years; Guy Fawkes, 'the only man to enter parliament with honest intentions' some would say...
"Listen, it's too big a world to be in competition with everyone. The only person who I have to be better than is myself. And in your case, that's enough."

Quite a lot of the early series of London's burning are on you tube and very good they are as well. By series 13 though you can see how poor it had become.
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

Drama have been repeating them starting with series 1 episode 1.

It's interesting with London's Burning to see the progression of the firefighting uniform. Series 1 we had the traditional cork lined helmets, woolen tunic, and yellow waterproof trousers. Currently were at series 4, and the cast now wear waterproof jackets and trousers with hi-vis stripes, and a helmet with a flip down visor. If I remember right, by the end of the final series, the weird "burnt orange" coloured gear was just issued.

Well, so much for the repeats of The Bill.

As of today, Drama have skipped from the end of series 4 to the start of series 14. That's ten years worth of episodes.

And apparently it's due to the ratings not being good...

Seriously? They're worried about the ratings on repeats of a show that's over thirty years old?

I was watching "The Force: the Story of Scotland's Police" a couple of nights ago. Quite partial to a nice documentary now and again. :)
