Thanks, Henry.

I'm in my early 50's, it happens. Only 53, tea total, non smoker, no recreational drug use, heavily into my sport of strength athelete (making Scottish champ 3 times and British twice) .. all of which makes all of this particularly unfair.

Anyway, I've always been a stubborn bugger, then a downright fighter (an actual scrapper in my second job life as a pub and nightclub doorman) and doing that job from the age of 16,ive never walked away from a fight, or stayed sat down during one if, on the very odd occasion, I ended up there.

No, I've always been one to get right back up, head down, arse up and get stuck right in again.

Same in my other, more normal, life. Never stepped away from a fight, conflict, problem, difficulty or trouble and I'm definitely not starting now.

Daddy/daughter and takeaway movie night tonight, and I'm gong to bloody enjoy it. First one in way too long because of bloody hospital stays, CoVid shielding or just bad logistics.

Hope you've got something nice lined up for your Sunday, H6, and if so, all the best in enjoying it.

PS: Banjo "and a great quote from the late ,great hollowhorn regarding said bike.it will live with me forever. ::): ::): ::):"

Oh, Banjo, old bean .. do elucidate, old chap. Totally interested to know exactly what the delightfully and bitingly cheeky but impossible to get arsey with, Robert had to say.

It'll only add to my long list of things that make him endearing to all of us.

Doorstop exactly my thoughts you are one young superb product of our town, I am an Anglo but every time I meet my fellow wegians be it in work or leisure I am always impressed with our inbuilt resilience, I was taught to stand up for the wee man and I can tell you that in a crisis my Faither was the biggest man in the room, he would root out the problem and sort it, I think we have an advantage and let us not forget “mother Glasgow gives fortitude to her children” the heart has been ripped out of the town now, the house were I was born in Kames street, long gone, my schools long gone, many pals gone or old before their team me BUT I will always have that resilience, an avid blue nose, there is nobody prouder than me of the Lisbon Lions, once again that was 10 of US against the world the 11th Lennox was from Ayrshire!

Don’t put anyone on a pedestal, get tore in to those quacks and get the hospital treatment and medicines that you need Doorstop, Just do it and for goodness sake hang on in there young feller - and keep riding the bike!

I am a black and white film nut, particularly Keaton, Chaplin, Lloyd and of course Laurel and Hardy, throw in to the mix The Marx Brothers and Will Hay and I would never need to go out of the house again!

Loving this social isolation period, missing work but we will all be back.

Best to find something to do

Can't bring myself round to doing the decorations yet, although all the neighbours have theirs up. My 90-y.o. father-in-law died at the end of November and the funeral is next Thursday. Seems a bit crass to put the lights up.

Grahame, sorry for your loss, to be fair 90 is a fantastic achievement so you could put up the decorations in his honour!

Grahame,

That is sad news and you must do what is right for you.
As Henrysix says 90 is good age but it is still tough when you lose someone.
