Was at hospital this morning to have a small cyst removed from my thumb. Had to strip and wear a gown, why in this day and age do we still have tie up the back gowns? It's nye on impossible to tie them as the ribbons are about three inches long. Could the not have Velcro instead?

I remember being told its because the temperatures needed to sterilise a gown would destroy velcro.

Usually nowadays, you're given two gowns. The first goes on with the ties to the back. The second with the ties to the front.

I'm often mistaken for Sir Alex Ferguson and I do mean often, though it was amusing at first. I understand it when I'm at a football match but why people would imagine that Fergie was doing his shopping in Tesco Express on Maryhill Rd is beyond me.

Durachdan,

Eddy

PS - He's ten years older than me too!

Wisdom tooth extracted today. My dentist has a lovely chair-side manner and had the tooth out within minutes of me arriving (early).

ouch! Wisdom teeth can be very painful to get extracted.
I'm lucky as well in having a very nice dentist.

My dentist was a character.
I was sitting in the waiting room at the appointed time and he appeared and told me to go into the torture chamber and he would be with me shortly.
He was a good dentist and I had every confidence in him. Back in the seventies I hated the injection when I needed a filling.
Not because of the needle, but the after effects, as then, the numbness lasted for hours and you were unable to eat or drink during that period.
I used to ask him if it would be OK to go without any anaesthetic. I would let him decide, and I had a few fillings without any, preferring that to the hours of numbness.
He has since retired and his daughter is now my dentist.
Bob.
