Our house is stinking at the moment.
Had salmon steaks for tea and despite two plug in things in the hall and kitchen it still smells.
I have even sprayed about half a can of aerosol but it hasn't made much difference.
Wouldn't be so bad except someone is calling round later so maybe it will be better by then.

dont know if you stay in a house or a flat but what i usually do is leave the back door open for a while and that clears any cooking smells and burnt toast smell which always sets off the smoke alarm ::):
if its a flat your in just open the kitchen window and close the kitchen door and it should clear within a short while also pour hot water into the sink and add a good amount of bleach to it that will soon clear the smell

the researcher,

I am in an old three storey semi.
Would open back door but we have a neighbour whose cat regularly gets into our back yard and climbs over
the car. If I were to leave door open I wouldn't be surprised if cat came into kitchen to investigate.

Have had a stray cat come in through our front door once and I had to chase it.

Visitors have been and gone and smell has died down.
I'll try some bleach in the sink just to help things along and thanks for the tip.

Just at the end of a wonderful trip looking for new adventure. I'm wondering if I should continue studying Psychology in Glasgow...

Weird Question of the Week To Those With Plumbing and Medical Knowledge

Got smelly black mould 8O wait .... on ceiling and wall. I cleaned off the mould with mould cleaner -the said mould is due to a slow leak lurking behind the said wall.
Question
Due to the visibility of the black mould does that always mean that there is black mould behind too? and if so could that cause my symptoms which I am putting down to sinusitus? and by the look of the damn thing and my wild imagination should I call an exorcist as well as the plumber?
Yes HH,I know

As Brigit says certain moulds can cause respiratory problems mostly from the spores it produces.
Its a particular problem if you have any chronic health problems.

I've had a black mould growing in the bathroom but I clobbered it with a mixture of Dettol (apple-flavoured spray) and regular Dettol. They don't like it up 'em and once it dried I cleaned it off with an old toothbrush. Good idea to use a face mask when doing this.

I think it would be a good idea to go and see your GP, Bridie.
