Put sandals on for work and rain came later.

My current state may well have been able to be induced with another form of ethyl alcohol .. but as the magic apples were all I partook in last evening I have no empirical evidence with which to confirm or deny said theory.

If you only partook in said fermented apples last evening then you cannot possibly know the goblins are there to stay for two weeks. This tells me you have prior experience and therefore not eligible for sympathy, some goading perhaps but no sympathy.
