Norris McWhirter

Postby Ronnie » Tue Apr 20, 2004 8:20 pm

No great sadness at the passing of the old fascist McWhirter, but ... did you know he was from Glasgow and that until about 15 years ago his family owned a small electrical repair shop on Great Western Road near the Hillhead Street steps. Roughly where the health food shop is now? Do I get in the book for knowing the least interesting fact about Glasgow?

it's a well known fact, him and his brother (assassinated by the IRA), both extreme right-wing. something you don't really know about when you're 8 years old watching him on Record Breakers

He was president of the Freedom Association, which was funded by - among others - the apartheid government of South Africa. He has a long track record in right wing politics. Do a web search to find out more for yourselves, if you like.
