Plans for a major dance music festival on the banks of Loch Ness have been unveiled.

Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, and DJ Carl Cox are to lead the line-up for "Rock Ness", along with Skye-born Mylo.

When was Dance music relabeled as Rock music? Must be
showing my age 8O

Mr Cook wants to stage the event on the Dores side of the Loch,
mmhhhh.... Think it would be a better idea to utilise some
previous industrial site, no requirement then to create another

Agreed. I fucking hate outdoor "festivals". Arseholes with nothing better to do than fanny about listening to crap music and littering up someone elses back yard. (excuse the language)

"Rock ness" - naff off.

He's an absolute idiot if he thinks that 20,000 people are going to get down the Dores Road. Does he even realise that Dores is the kind of village that only has about 5 buses a day?

Canny whack a good live gig. Best ever was the Average White Band at the Loch Lomand Bear park about 79/80. Lots of Northern Soul groupies up from Casters and Wigan. That was some serious dancing going on. :D

Well, there's the two school buses a day, one which leaves Foyers about 7.45am I guess and the one back at 3.30pm ish from town. So if you work out that the last bus out is about 6 or something and the first bus in at 7ish, then maybe 5 is a bit too many! It's not as bad as Whitebridge though, there are less buses there. If it started to snow kids from school got sent home on the 10.10 bus incase it got worse and the bus didn't get back to town! 8O

Ok, I was really sad and looked up the timetable. There's 3 buses to Whitebridge on a schoolday, 2 when it's the holiday times. Last bus just after 3.

And there's 3 a day to Foyers, last bus from Inverness before 6.

So, Norman Cook, this is the type of place you are invading. Why didn't you have it at Nairn beach?! Dores doesn't have a shop, or a post office, and just one teeny tiny wee pub. Madness. If they start a petition for this I might sign it!
