Yesterday's potential riot in George Square

Great to see strathclyde police managed to control the mindless idiots on both sides of the divide who believe in violence rather than dialogue.

well done the cops

There was no need for that march or whatever the call it.... both sides were as bad as each other

Well done to the brave cops of strathclyde.... we might find you a pain at times, but you did good

Actually, it seems the catholics just marched while the protestants did a lot of singing, throwing and nazi-saluting during those events...

Much like the orange walks, just another excuse for an organised riot.

IMO, strathclyde police should just stand back, let them beat seven shades of siht out each other and jail the winners.

::): Not a bad idea.

All these marches should be banned, be it the 3 or 4 "Republican" marches or
the 350+ "Orange" marches that take place each year. If they want to "celebrate"
they can hire a hall and do it there.

Or how about they get one march each per year?

They try any more than that and the riot cops get to gas them like badgers.

Yep, I'd go along with that.

Pissed me off big style, forgot all about the damn thing and went into Glasgow yesterday morning. Parked in High Street car park and went to the model shop in Bell street, half an hour later returned to High street adn was advised by the police to come back in a hour as the reckoned it was about to kick off big style.
Cost me an extra quid in parking charges.

It sickens me to my very core. I don't unerstand how either group are still allowed to march, a reasonable analogy would be a german community holding an annual march to celebrate the holocaust or supporters of Al Quaieda celebrating September 11th.

Vile, putrid, malicious, retarded people.

Perhaps this was the case for previous generations, but certainly not for mine. I went to an RC school and it had no bearing on my (or anyone elses as far as I could see) life and outlook. These idiots are old enough to think for themselves, it's far too easy to blame it on a failing of the education system: they, quite simply, have failed themselves.
