i'm a mac feind, and have been for about 10 years now, but i have to say that buying a new intel mac would be silly just now. almost every pro software application you can name wont be ported over for a good few months yet which means the additional cpu power from the new chips is wasted on running Rossetta, which runs in the background and converts the old code to the new way of working so theres little improvement in speed until the software is compatible. plus, apples first generation of any new hardware is always a bit hit and miss.

personally i'd wait till the next update of the intel range before buying one, regardless of how good they look spec wise!

Apologies in advance if this posting has got bad grammar and typo errors. I am typing it with the backlight in the laptop blown out. It is as if the screen is wearing sunglasses.

I left the velux window open in the wee room where i keep my laptop and it rainded didn't it. Laptops now dried out but the screen backlights blown out - shorted.Anyone know any wee epair shops where they might be able to fix it. Or is it a write off.

Cheers
