Hard to tell if anyone has been killed yet. Looks serious.

Latest reports say at least 6 explosions on the tube, and 1 bus.

Liverpool Street, Russel Square, King's Cross, Aldgate East, Moorgate, Houndsditch Road and Edgware Road.

Reports 20 killed (though only 2 confirmed dead).

Looks very serious. Arab sources claiming Al Quaeda are behind it.

Blair is leaving G8 to return to London.

It is serious.

the bus explosion looks like it was possibly the UKs first suicide bombing, and overall there are around 150 serious injured and people still trapped in the underground. Many dead.

Al Qaeda have apparently admitted they did it. No surprise, really. Who else would it be?

Chris is currently stuck in London. He was in Liverpool U station when he was told "to evacuate just in time, a bomb went off in the subway. A subway we were about to get on".

But he's fine.

He left Glasgow this morning on a 5:30am flight but was supposed to be back in Glasgow tonight in time for his night shift. He doubt this will happen "I'm not going to get out of London today".

"Things here are not good".

So txt him on his cell and tell him you love him or something :)

bottom line - he's fine.

33 confirmed dead, with more uncomfirmed numbers of fatalities on the bus
according to the police chief on the BBC.

I've been watching this on BBC1 for ages now.

Crazy stuff.

No coincidence it was during G8 and the day after the olympic bid was won.

Now we're waiting to find out if it was packages left on trains and the bus, or if it was, scarier, suicide bombers.

ok so Al Qaeda are prime suspects as causing this horrific attack but there has been NO official claim of responsibility. The website that states its an act on behalf of Al Qaeda is unreliable to say the least.

Its pissing me off the number of people who jump to conclusions and blame "the muslims" (and please note I'm NOT saying its anyone here).

It may well be that it was a muslim extremist group who caused this terror attack but considering the timing it could just as easily be anti-globalisation terrorists - hell an online friend even joked it was the french pissed off at not getting the olympics (and he was one of the people stuck in the tube at the time of one of the explosions)

This is a horrific, tragic attack and I'm saddened and disgusted that any human being could do something like this. That said, I was not surprised in the slightest that it happened when and where it did.

I live in a busy multi-ethnic area and I remember the tensions from 9/11 between anyone who was remotely asian looking and the "white" population. Its only really in recent times that things have settled down again and that people were starting to get comfortable with each other.

By pointing at a muslim group before it has been officially confirmed can only create havoc between already fragile ethnic relationships.

Ladylabobo,

Do we blame the catholics for attacking Irak? So no reason to blame the muslims for stuff like this!

When the IRA was engaged in terror attacks in the UK. We didnt blame the Irish people for the attack, just the attackers themselves.

Remember, it hasn't been confirmed who actually carried this attack out yet. Just the fact an Al-Quaeda (sic) website claims it, doesnt mean it's true. From what I hear, the website in question is not a realiable source.

I know the street that the bus exploded on really well. I usually spend the summer down in London but I didn't go down this year due to not having any money.

The depressing thing about this is neither side can win and no one is prepared to back down so it's just going to happen again and again.

What a waste of life.
