The 'Homers' Network!

Right then!

We all have a job. We all have stuff we do well (maybe). My recent request for a Plasterer and Plumber inspired me to create this thread*!

So, those of us with a 'trade' - what is it and do you do 'Homers'?

I'm in IT and I can build, repair, fix, install and maintain PCs, Servers, Networks, Comms.

Windows, UNIX, Mac, Novell etc etc you name it. I'm also good with hardware and can fix most things that exist! :-)

Got any work ? Let me (And others on the list) know by Private Message!

So, what do YOU do ?

Now then - I hope this thread catches on and none of us will ever be stuck for a 'homer' again! ;-)

Chris...

Oh, and I could use some homers myself!

Excellent idea, Mr Smakely!

Let's see some contribution to this thread, we could end up with a big network of folk doing odd jobs for each other.

HG - it's the new Barter system!

Not my line of business but i am involved in the Classic car scene. I would be happy to give advice to anyone contemplating buying a 1950,s or 60,s car for the first time. What to watch out for, the pros and cons, which car is better than the other etc. :)

Ah, but with so many PC boffins, how does one pick which to PM!

Cheers for the offer, but may as well buy a spanky new dual layer jobbie, might finally persuade me to getting round to backing stuff up....

gap74: It's only about 35 quid for a dual layer DVD 12speed writer.

I hope it's the DVD that's goosed, otherwise you might be looking
at a new motherboard and that leads to new CPU, new memory etc. etc. :?

Anybody do roughcasting?
The local wee shi*es have taken to excavating a hole in my wall. The Glasgow Housing Association (my factor) have seen fit to charge three hundred quid for the repair (about half a square metre). As this looks like being an ongoing problem, would be interested to know what this work would really cost.
