Help - Engagement Party Panic

Postby lisadolly » Sun Apr 24, 2005 11:14 am

Hello!
Does anyone have any suggestions for venues that are suitable for an engagement party in or around Glasgow that would allow kids in? My little sister is 9, a wee angel but well below drinking age, but as she's going to be one of my bridesmaids it would be a bit rubbish if she couldn't go!
Any suggestions at all would be fantastic, as I'm at a bit of a loss with this one.....
Cheers! :D

Your nearest bowling club but check if their catering staff have REHIS certificates if you wish her to survive for the wedding. You could also contact your nearest community centre.

i would imagine most hotels would be able to hire you a room and would be ok with children

I need to know a few things first...

Tell me about your young, cute, single female friends?

Then I can answer your question better!

lisadolly, the Burnside Hotel on East Kilride Road (near the Burnside railway station) has a restaurant cum function lounge that they hire out for wedding parties, engagements etc. You get a completely closed off area to yourselves that can accomodate DJ, a fair number dancing etc.

Sometimes when I 'm sitting with a pal in the adjacent lounge a wee kid will frighten the life out of me when it escapes from a function, comes up to me and asks if I know them or do I know their mum :?

A hotel does seem top be the best way to go, I suppose we'll just have to pay through the nose for a function suite just to have the wee brat there, unless I can persuade my parents to cough up some money for it, she is their child after all..... heh heh!
