In the last 13 years I've only ever worn Doctor Martins classic 8 holer boot. My first pair were the standard black, then I went ox-blood for a while, back to black, then a pair of suede ones, before switching to my current brown leather.

little new-rock shoes, with the soles falling off. Occasionally, I use a hot melt glue gun to re-attach my soles. I love those shoes.

Maybe a pair of black vans or ancient converse...comfy.

Must admit that recently the heavy duty thermal socks go on before any outer footwear 'cos there is nothing worse than cold feet.

Aids? only aid in relation to the wearing of shoes is the occassional use of a shoehorn perhaps, if I can remember where I left it.
