My brother was seconded to Easterhouse Fire Station the other night, and the watch got called out to a chip pan fire. One of the attending firemen put the fire out with a dry powder fire extinguisher.

This was at three in the morning (it was some idiot deciding he wanted chips after a night on the lash) and when they got back to the station the lads just wanted their bed. The gaffer though, who that night was a normal fireman who was covering the full time gaffers' shift (acting up, they call it) and who also happens to be a bit of a dick, decides to tell the bloke who had used the extinguisher that his tunic was covered in powder and he had to clean it before he headed off to his bunk.

Needless to say the fireman in question was more than a bit peeved at this and lets the jobsworth know this by uttering a few "Fucking hell"'s before proceeding to tear his tunic off and beat it against the walls and floor to get rid of the powder.

It was only when he got upstairs to the bunkroom did he realise that his beloved brand new iPhone was in the pocket and, needless to say, was now the most expensive piece of a quarter a square foot of crazy paving in the world.
