So far : Beethoven's 9th, Offshore Banking Business by The Members, Sibelius' 7th and More Specials.

The last of which is, simply, magnificence.

I have ever failed to see what the fuss was about Syd. They were substantially better for several years after his departure.

I recently played 'Echoes' for the first time in - ooh - almost thirty years. And I'm doing it again at the moment.

Despite having fought in the trenches in The Punk Wars against the likes of them, I think 'Live at Pompeii' remains an almost unsurpassable live video recording.

Syd wrote catchier tunes then he fell ill.

For obvious reasons it's this; I look forward to hearing it again at 2.55 this afternoon.

I've forgotten how to post youtube clips on here. Anyway, I'm currently listening to Buddy and May Miller's version of Richard Thompson's Keep your Distance.

Couldn't find the one with May. Is Julie OK?

Sorry. Ignore please (still can't understand how to embed a video despite Sharon making it clear elsewhere and the thousands of similar instructions online).

I've seen the following video a few times on old music shows but only bothered to check who they were a few months ago:

The blonde lead singer is Toni Willé who continues to perform and release some amazing music. The following is a concert from Fuji some three years ago. Her rendition of KT Olsin's Still on my Mind; a beautiful song to begin with, at 53:01 blows me away.

Shuggy

Following on from my post in the Would Ye! thread she remains stunning even though she is almost sixty.

This could easily be posted under a thread entitled 'most 1980's moment ever'. Some music styles are looked down upon but my argument for this inclusion is that no matter the genre; if it evokes, inspires or emotes a positive feeling then it deserves its place here. So with that said this is my candidate for greatest pop song of all time :

Through YouTube I found out that Hazell Dean's career started well before her amazing Hi-NRG hits and this will soon be on my MP3:

I am not taking the piss when I say this is also on my MP3. It's there as it brings back happy memories of my teens and the video makes me sleep at night safe in the knowledge that I can never be the worst white male dancer in the world as long as Robbie Dupree breathes.
