Join an ever increasing band of music fans by tuning in to Born Too Late for Sunday Oldies with Felonious Munk .
Noon till Two on Sunny Govan radio 103.5 FM in Glasgow and online at

http://sunnygovanradio.com from 12:00 till 14:00 (GMT)

Felonious takes a news item from this week in a year somewhere between 1954 and 1969 and plays some records that were in the charts. He's still ploughing through his Motown collection, and courtesy of Fopp has increased his collection of Elvis Movie soundtracks.

Chubby Checker is back in the news so maybe the Twist will be dance fad of the week

itunes, in their infinite generosity, give away a free song every week. Some of these have been less than good, others excellent. Among which are:

The Staves - wisely & slow
Kristina Train - Dream of me

Also listening to Etta James - Blues to the Bone.

I'm not normally a rap fan, but this one tickled me (btw I'm not taking sides in the independence debate )

The word literally is greatly overused, generally to my great annoyance. But I literally did wake up singing this this this morning

No, I've no idea, before you ask.

Born Too Late for Sunday oldies features a fine mix of music from the fifties and sixties taking pop, soul, and Rock’n’Roll from the UK and the US.

Noon till Two.

There’s a wee focus on New Orleans, a triple play from Motown, two from Elvis and a chart from March in a year gone by.

Cheery, being 'She Is Suffering' by the Manics, from back when they were distraught types and had one more band member:

"The less she gives the more you need her..."

I'm not sure St John's Wort will do the trick there.

Speaking of fingerstyle, I love this. I posted it getting on for four years ago (!) and it's overdue another airing, backwoods-axe-murderer look and everything. John Fahey - the Red Pony:

Born Too Late for Sunday oldies provides a weekly fix of music from the fifties and sixties with pop, soul, and Rock’n’Roll records from the UK and the US.

From the opening jingle at 12:00 to the closing beats of the last song at 14:00 it's just about non stop music with remarks limited to every other song.

This week we focus on an event in the those two decades and play music from the March chart from the year that event occurred. There'a learn to dance spin, a triple play from Motown, and two from Elvis (as suggested by a board member).

Listening to the great Wizz Jones, saw him play in Milngavie last night. A ninety minute guitar lesson for a tenner!
