Still trying to track down a copy of GMF's "Quartered Safe Out Here".
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

"The Cuckoo's Calling" by Robert Galbraith (AKA J.K. Rowling).

Got it and the sequel "The Silkworm" from my local library, just out of curiosity. Not bad so far, I've read worse.

A vast improvement over "The Casual Vacancy", which was A: boring, and B: pish.

"Anti-Hero" by Jonathan Wood.

Third in the "Arthur Wallace and MI-37" series of police procedurals/urban fantasy novels.

Kind of like "Torchwood" could have been with a bigger budget and no Russell T. Davis to fuck it up.

THE MASTER OF THE CARAVAN :
But who are ye in rags and rotten shoes,
You dirty-bearded, blocking up the way?

THE PILGRIMS :
We are the Pilgrims, master; we shall go
Always a little further:

"Macaque Attack" by Gareth L. Powell.

Third and (alas) final book in the "Ack-Ack Macaque" trilogy.
