Renting out home during the Commonwealth Games

Postby mattp76 » Tue Sep 03, 2013 6:35 am

Interesting to see people planing on renting out their homes for the Commonwealth Games. Like with the London Olympics Glasgow homeowners are tapping into the opportunity.

Whilst I can understand why she's done this, I'd be a bit pissed off if I booked accommodation for either the Commy Games or the Ryder Cup and found myself lodging in Falkirk.

Leaving aside the fact Falkirk is a dump, it's miles from either event.
I hear the people sing.

It is only close in the Ryanair sense, aye, but what did Falkirk ever do to you? You can tell us; you're among friends :)

Possibly date backs to the days when Falkirk was known as Sin City due to the number of bastards produced there.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

I have an Uncle who planned every road trip in Scotland via Stirling.

I'm now wondering if he should be referred to Operation Yewtree?

Although, it has to be said that the worse abuse I suffered at his hands was possibly no flake in my cone on a family holiday
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

Falkirk > Glasgow takes 25 mins on a train and costs £10 for an off peak return. I think that's pretty good really. Would take you as long to get from the west end to east end on a train / bus! And accommodation is bound to be cheaper (someone else can check that). I contend that it adds up well for those travelling to the games.

Only things i would say need to be altered is the trains every 15mins should be specified as being from Falkirk High as from Grhamston its hourly (and no service on a sun), also trains to Gleneagles, youd have to change at Stirling

In this day and age.....better safe than sorry, that way she doesnt get sued

 is this the real reason behind the 'bedroom tax'....?
Rent out your 'so called' spare room space for £500 per week, and the Council cannot do a thing as you are only covering the extra
they are looking for....?
Wouldn't be long for Council officials to block that as well........!
