I would like to learn a bit more about crowdsourcing websites than I do already know. I was wondering if anyone on here uses crowdsourcing websites regularly. I am particularly (though not exclusively) interested in those which are linked to the heritage sector and which use volunteers.
I contribute to the Your Paintings site, a collaboration between the Public Catalogue Foundation and the BBC. Here is a link http://tagger.thepcf.org.uk/ On the website you can tag paintings with metadata relating to people, places, things and events. I do this from time to time, mainly because I enjoy seeing the paintings in public collections, but also because it is fun to contribute.
Anyone use any other good crowdsourcing sites? What do you like about them? How did you get roped in?
