Photographs of instore displays: Glasgow, Paisley, EK?

Where would you find photographs of interior of shops and stores when they were active - for example Glasgow Lewis's in the 1960s, 70s, 80s or Co-Op department store, East Kilbride in the same time period or indeed any shop interior from any time period in the area in the last fifty, sixty years? Were compulsory archives ever made?

Maybe the head offices of the stores themselves? I doubt there's any compulsory archiving of such stuff.
I hear the people sing.

Local newspapers. Try the East Kilbride News.
They boil them for 20 of their Earth minutes

I got a reply today from the archive team at the Co-op today re a similar enquiry. They told me that most of the original records of Glasgow Co-operative Society and the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society are held at Glasgow City Archives.
SCRAN has a lot of shop interiors, it is, though, a subscription site. You can get access to it at the Mitchell.
