Ah!!! It's a small world, right enough. I also went to St Johns Church, just up the road. And I did a paper run from the Baillieston Post office in 1958. Delivered the papers to Crosshill and Swinton, while my pal David F was doing the other half of the run down the Baux. We had bikes.
I had an Aunt in South Scott Street. I didn't live in Baillieston. But I was nearby.
When you started at the infant school was the Rocking Horse still there, and did they give you slates with slate pencils? Na - I suppose that would be gone by that time.... Do you remember the janitor walking right round the school ringing that hand-bell just before nine in the morning? If I was walking to school and I heard it away in the distance, I would start running like mad.
