I get the feeling that this is the kind of crap we'll have to put up with until the referendum.

Drip, drip, drip.

As lazy and borderline-insulting as the graphic is, the related articles on their website are actually quite considered in tone. Though I get a bit annoyed when commentators bring up Darien as if it's a), some obscure and amazing thing they've discovered, and b), not just one particular part of a really quite complex narrative.

So do yourselves, and the rest of us, a favour - call the referendum sooner than Autum 2014.

If this was the output of some back-street one man and a dug set-up with an elderly Mac and a Barras copy of Photoshop, then shovelled crap might cover it.

The Economist is altogether different. Around for 150+ years, 1,500,000 readers a week - A WEEK! and has been mentioned on The Simpsons. Serious stuff.

No, no, that's a fair enough point. It is a widely read and comparatively upmarket organ.

And it's nice to see a venerable old publication gaining unexpected new fans.

They'll be particularly glad of the circulation boost up here I daresay : neo-con publications supporting Reagan, Thatcher, Cameron and the wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan tend to find it hard to come by readers here for some odd reason.

Funnily enough they failed to see the global recession coming and don't know what to do to get out of it. Serious stuff indeed.

Dinnae fash yourselves , laddies. Eck is on the case. The man The Economist once described as "the SNP’s cheerful and witty leader" has said the magazine will "rue the day" it published a front cover image likening Scotland to an impoverished nation. As he and Michael Forsyth still the only Scotsmen maintaining a subscription to The Economist it's a serious threat.

The article is worth a read and I'm sure the Tory Bams will be no match for the well drilled Nat crayon commandos in the comments section.

I knew I instinctively recoil from that publication , but it is nice to have the confirmation in a nut shell.

BTW, I have a pal who eschews all newspapers ( plus political websites ) and instead gets his input on current affairs from that thing. We don't see eye to eye on a number of issues. Especially economics ::):

Meanwhile, in other news, Lyall Duff has resigned from the SNP.

Is this just some trolling exercise then? It's beginning to look that way. No trolling, gentlemen.

And Dex, why not just post a YouTube clip of 'Stop Yer Tickling, Jock'? It'd be slightly less patronising.
