Sky planner duly amended, DS. Many thanks :)

I'd watch more Discovery channel stuff if Morgan Freeman presented more.

Went to see Brian Cox, Simon Singh, Ben Goldacre, Robin Ince et al last night (uncaged monkeys). Surprisingly entertaining and worth the shell-out and the last train home from Embra.

Ahh you jammy so and so! They've been banging on about that for weeks on Twitter. I've got some podcasts of the live shows built up on my computer. Will need to get round to listening to them. What kind of show was it? Were they all just sat round having a debate like the Infinite Monkey Cage podcast?

Started off with Robin Ince doing a science stand-up, very funny. He then introduced Helen Keen, who did a very funny (again!) history of space rockets. Then we had Ben Goldacre, who prowled the stage like a demented mad prof caricature and managed to fit the gist of 'Bad Science' into a hilarious twenty minutes. Cue Prof Cox, who had been mercilessly baited by Ince for his style of presenting being like a Sagan-inspired George Formby. Cox's set was the hardest of the evening; if you didn't have some idea about quantum theory and sub-atomic particles you might have missed a fair bit- it was amusing though, and very entertaining (the OH, who knows nowt and cares less, for physics, enjoyed the whole show). Interval followed by QA by twitter for Cox and Goldacre, compered by Ince. Next was Helen Arney, who did some extremely good science songs on the ukelele (honest, we laughed!). Simon Singh closed the show with some excellent stuff on the big bang. 3 hours of fun with physics- hurrah!

I just thought you folk who are so funny & knowledgeable might have something to say about science, astronomy, cosmology, the universe in general :) Personally I'm almost completely ignorant of all things scientific but still manage to find the "popular" science TV programs (e.g. Prof Brian Cox et al) unbelievably fascinating.

Anyway- further to the "Wonders of the Universe" episode last night, I was led to this article.

And the winner of the most dramatic missing of the point goes to...

Check out 'The Infinite Monkey Cage' on radio 4 http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/timc. It's got Prof Cox and others, and can be very funny too.

It's back for a new series.

Radio 4, Mondays 16.30. Today was The Science of Risk. Great stuff.
I hear the people sing.
