Now I come to think of it, though, I could name several female members of the SSP, but not a single male one. Go on, name us a couple.

How about Colin Fox? The supposed leader since Tommy left to form Solidarity.
Use to work with Colin's mum, and it's amazing how middle class and Hyacinth Bucket she is, yet so proud of Colin having been an MSP.
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

I've got nothing further to say due to HG censorship - which is truely subjective - and defensive on the part of the defiled Sherry.

After I met him, my lasting memory is that he pronounces modern as modren.

Wee Tommy is a real firebrand speaker, and after hearing him I was inclined to join the S.S.P., but after a glance through their manifesto, I quickly realised that they were loony lefties of the highest stripe.

I'm really happy to see this thread up and running again, though I'm quite vexed at not having seen what caused the (I'm assuming there was one) stushie.

Maybe some kind hearted mod, could stick up a few words of explanation?

Under the circumstances the whole incident is probably best forgotten.

I had to have a look to see what happened, but I tend to agree with Egg Man. It didn't add anything to the thread, and could have become seriously unpleasant.

It's a shame about la Sheridan. I remember hearing him as one of the speakers at that demo before the Iraq war; it was rabble rousing stuff, but he was very effective and pretty much stole the show.

I've just looked, and sure enough, there's a PM lying in my inbox.
I have no recollection of reading it, yet it wasn't flagged "unread". Strange. It's feasible, but highly unlikely, that I read it while pissed and can't remember.
Anyway, apologies for aspersions cast.

Matt, at the invitation of Pete Seeger, played the Carnegie hall in New York. Way down on the bill was a certain Bob Dylan. Would you Effen Beelieve it?
