Tommy Sheridan planning News of the World legal action

Disgraced former MSP Tommy Sheridan is planning to take legal action after his personal details emerged in an investigation into phone-hacking.

He has instructed his lawyers to pursue the News of the World and a private investigator for breach of privacy.

It comes after details about his home address and mobile phone were found in two of the investigator's notebooks in a police raid four years ago.

I'm neither pro, nor anti Tommy Sheridan, but from all the articles I've read so far, my opinion is that he is going to get the maximum sentence.

A female juror in the Tommy Sheridan perjury trial is facing a possible jail term after using Facebook to post claims that the socialist politician was innocent and that fellow members of the jury were “scum bags” for convicting him.

The juror, who cannot be named for legal reasons, may have breached the Contempt of Court Act by posting details of the jury’s deliberations – a crime which, if found guilty, can lead to a jail term.

Meanwhile, south of the border, the Contempt of Court Act is being completely ignored, despite a warning from the attorney general.

I gather Scots judges are quite keen to enforce the act, and seem to remember some English journos being threatened in no uncertain terms during a trial a few years back (much to their surprise).

The sooner politicans and ex politicians realise that they are not above the law the better. He knew himself he was guilty. He was warned by friends not to carry out his futile case yet at great expense to the public he acted in self interest. Get it up him.

How deep up your own arse does your head actually go.
Lets start with Labour MP Eric Illsley charged with false accounting.
Three Labour MPs fraudulent expense claims declared that they were above the law and would fight attempts to put them on trial. There own words.
Elliot Morley, David Chaytor and Jim Devine each face up to seven years in jail after Keir Starmer, QC, the Director of Public Prosecutions, announced that he was charging them under the Theft Act 1968.
Then we that clown Aitkens and his famous " Sword of truth " statement.
And to cap it off Millionaire novelist Lord Archer was jailed for four years after being found guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice.
Thank you. And why not.

Regardless of what has happened nothing can take away the amount of good Tommy has done in the last 20 years. To blindly tar him with the same brush used on other politicians does neither him or Socialism any justice.
