Greek stuff tonight: stuffed tomato; broccoli with feta; cucumber and chilli salad; nice home-made bread. No plonk today.

It's cheap, can be cooked in many ways and good for you. I learned to cook with offal many years ago when I was a student and newly married.

SWMBO excelled herself last night - picked up some Aberdeen Angus beefburgers with added dressing from Waitrose - 2 packs for a fiver. Add to that some cabbage out of the garden and a pile of chips, washed down with a bottle of Normandy cider. Magic.

Nice bit of Haddock tonight. Think I'll do it with some home made breadcrumbs and some nice boiled tatties with butter and syboes and roast some carrots. All the veg from the garden, which is the really nice thing about this time of year.

Full house tonight with the weans round for dinner, so kept it simple. Focaccia with hummus and red pepper dip; roast chicken with sweet potato wedges and fruit salad. Lots of plonk.
They did the dishes, they also brought the plonk.

Had KFC last night for the first time in years. It was absolutely disgusting. Fox got a treat last night.
