Sounds nice, got the recipe?

Sure. Get the bus into town, go to M&S and pay the woman. Simple. ;-)

Had a couple of meals in M&S in May this year, all the way from sunny Australia.
Very nice and only a hop, step and jump from our accommodation in Glassford St.

Tonight it's fried mackerel with a lentil salad. Mackerel is cheap just now and very good too for us chaps who are of a certain age and need help posting on the correct thread.

I'm impressed that you've managed to never have cheesecake before now. You've got to tell us what your verdict was though - I can't stand this kind of suspense :)
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

Not sure its for me. It's a bit "blah". Prefer apple pie and custard. Now that's a pudding.

I feel that way about those assorted fruit berries you get on some puds. And I detest rhubarb. An evil food.

Steak and chips. Made Tuscan Fries as shown below by the Lovely Nigella. Cut the potatoes thickly, it's more chips than fries, and put into COLD oil, then turn up the heat and fry as usual.
When they're just about ready , add four of five garlic cloves - unpeeled - and any fresh herbs e.g. thyme, rosemary, bay. Then scoop the lot out and leave to drain on kitchen paper, sprinkle with good salt and eat.(You can eat the garlic too.)
It shouldn't work but it does.

Eddy
