No problem, TEM.

I'm very surprised by the contract termination, I have to say. I wonder who'll get the (shouldn't exist in the first place) contract now?

I imagine enquiries have already been made of the Clerk to the Old Etonian Association to see who might be suitable.

"The government has ended a contract with welfare-to-work company A4e after deciding that continuing would be "too great a risk", it has said.

Employment minister Chris Grayling said the Mandatory Work Activity contract to help up to 1,000 jobless people in south-east England find work would end.

The firm is the subject of a police investigation into allegations of fraud relating to government schemes.

An eighth person was arrested on Monday."

mandatory work activity doesnt get you a job i know at least 4 people who have done a mwa and are still signing on looking for a job its the goverments stick approach to stigmitise the unemployed ie you have to do this mandatory work activity as it means if you get a interview for whatever crap job we make you apply for working seven days a week from 8am to 6pm you can mention it at the interview and it will help you get the job if you refuse to do a mwa we will sanction your benefit

Tory Minister admits Unemployment is great!

Tell us something we didn't know, arsehole .. when everyone is cutting their throat for a minimum wage job, no matter how well qualified they are, then it's obviously going to benefit the workforce and the Business owners aren't going to benefit from it.

How dare we we be so obtuse not to think so.

Oh hell. Is there no end to the cynical nasty utter horribleness? * :x Re. Ed Davey and Jessica Harper and oh-so-many other things, really, for the sake of laziness (and efficiency), I think there has to be a whole new internet abbreviation. Something like those "l o l" and "ROFL" and "WTF" things. Yes, I know many of us don't like them, but I can foresee a need for one that goes YCMIU, so that we don't have to wear our fingers out typing "you couldnae make it up".

I suppose it would sound a bit like "ickmew", sort of like a sick and vomity cat. Yeah, that sounds about right, sort of repulsive. Oh, except that I would feel sorry for a sick cat.

* It's only a rhetorical question really. :)

But would that mean that first we'd have to get a cat, then make the poor wee beastie ill so as to get a proper representation of the sad sick vomity cat? 8O Heheheh, there could be a whole photography project right there. ::):

Ah, methinks I see a tiny wee small problemette - there would come a day when there was lots of bad news to be covered (or more likely, of course, buried) and some newspapers would then prefer instead to devote space to this "cruelty to poor dumb animals" shock horror. NOT that cats are dumb or mute. Oh no, they can be quite loud indeed. I know this. :)

But there would be a bit of "Wicked Website Tortures Tiddles", and "Internet Perverts and Pussies - only we are brave enough to bring you the full horrifying story", and "Monsters Maltreat Moggies!" etc..

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... rules.html

"They have worked extremely hard for their local communities, and they have lost their seats and their opportunities to represent their local communities"

Is this coming from the same woman who has robbed the public purse blind by a) claiming hotel expenses by staying rent & expenses free at a friends house while simultaneously not declaring EIGHTEEN MONTHS of rental income from a London flat she could have been staying in and saving us, the taxpayers, a bastard fortune at her expense?

Hmm?

Who do I believe?

Tory Witch, or the facts as they stand .. if she had a flat in London, why did she need to pay a "personal friend" the 'fair and going rate' to stay in his spare room while renting out a flat she knew she had while "forgetting" she had the income to declare to parliament.

If she had to stay at a friends flat then she MUST have known she was getting income from her alternative London address which was rented to A.N. Other at profit.

So .. which was it Warsi?

You knew, and didn't declare .. or you forgot you owned a flat that you were perfectly able to live in but just chose to to be a greedy Tory sucking the chocolate from both ends of the straw at the same time.

I believe it is possible to make a political point without resorting to personal insults or pejorative or misogynistic language. And you are quite capable of it. In fact the omission of such language allows you to make said point and it to be read and digested as an actual comment and not just as venting. In future also drop "witch" from your list of adjectives.

I can't use the word witch?

Even if it is used in context in which it was intended?

Witch (wch)
n.
1. A woman claiming or popularly believed to possess magical powers and practice sorcery.
2. A believer or follower of Wicca; a Wiccan.
3. A hag.
4. A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing.
5. Informal A woman or girl considered bewitching.
6. One particularly skilled or competent at one's craft

I'm sorry .. but if that deserves a ban .. ban away.
