There's no requirement in law for inflatables to have a surname.

the real song of the clyde

chorus
oh my dad worked for cunard
my grandfather worked for them too
now theyve got asbestosis and deep vein thrombosis
and they will end their lives on the buroo

wee jimmy told the workers not to booze
i seen and heard his speech on the news
so they worked everyday and even saving up their pay
they never could afford a cunard cruise
chorus

the workers they were worth their weight in gold
if you believed the stories you were told
they toiled and they grafted till eventually were shafted
and right down the clyde they were sold
chorus

then the cheapskate bosses took their work abroad
and put even cheaper labour to the sword
now the latter day slaves will find early graves
from a company that never keeps its word
chorus

aye my dad worked for cunard.

Excellent. Did you do that yourself? It has a Matt McGinn feel to it if you didn't.....
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

wrote it the other day after reading comments from a qe2 skipper bumping his gums and bad mouthing the yard men about there being probably enough stuff to build two liners if the workers had not been pilfering.cunard made more money off the backs of these men than the other way round but always seem to make wee snide comments albeit from a distance.btw, thanks for even thinking of me in the same mode as the genius that was and always will be matt mcginn.i do have every recording matt made and just last week tracked down the 2007 mayday tribute dvd of the concert i was at,[copies available folks,as with the cds]cheers banjo.

wee matt mcginn

he sang of bingo bella and the dundee ghosty fella
he cooried doon and sang of oor wee wean
he told of the wee red yoyo and the first man on the moon
he sang the ballad of oor john mclean
chorus
he was wiry he was thin glasses and a hairy chin
but theres no a man could touch the wan
they called wee matt mcginn

he stood up against the big men like his hero benny lynch
and his brothers in the union loved him so
for they knew with wee matt at the helm
the bosses they would have to let it go
chorus

now over in america he was causing quite a stir
bring us matt mcginn the yanks did call
and he never let us down you know we knew he never would
and they raised the roof up off carneggie hall
chorus

now he lived his way and he had his say at the end he had no choice
but what id give to see him and to hear his gravel voice
but he left to us his brilliant songs and heres what we must do
we must teach them to our children and our childrens children too
chorus x2.
