On my way into the Merchant City tonight (meeting friends in a pub across from the HG meet) I noticed a very brief glimpse of the lights described by the original poster.

I was on Clyde St at 7.45 or so and the lights could just be seen to the right of the Glasgow Nautical College. I was driving the car, so it was a brief glimpse out of the corner of my eye and the two cyclists who were beside me also saw the same lights and crossed over the road (instead of going on their journey) with the intent of seeing these lights for themselves.

I didn't see these on the night in question but ive seen them at various times over the city ,if its the same light/laser show then its quite eye catching the first time they are seen.They sweep the sky meet in the middle and seemingly bounce of each other,usually they have been coming from sites in town .If it was anything else then my apologies sky watchers but it deffo sounds like this set up.

I witnessed these beams of light last Friday night near barshaw park
They were not in glasgow so wouldn't have anything todo with coldplay gig as too far away
They were like the batman beam obviously without the batman sign
What the heck are they?

Ok noticed this thread a week later but it was for the T.A army to promote there work and gain more interest in there work they have done this at numerous castles and hills in scotland before, they are the last 2 remaining 1 million candle power searchlights in the whole or the uk ( each bulb costs £1,500 ) more photos can be found on this link on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/historical ... 217211709/ one light was based at the T.A headquarters in hawkhead road and the other in moredun playing fields in glenburn

The shape was forming a saltire over paisley.

i have actually seen on three occasions things which have baffled me in the sky but after the incessant piss taking on this thread i'll keep em to myself i want to maybe go to this HG drinks night and not be looked upon as the local loonie Then again Fossils shirts seem to make that a hard accolade to attain...............sorry Foss no harm meant!!

There were four of them doing the Fandango above the Ibrox Oval flats this evening.

Quite hypnotic, they were.
