I've been drinking rooibos for years however and linking up with another thread ;) - I've had to give it up due to it's newly discovered affect on hormones 8O surprised me as well.
I'm back on green tea and it's not as bitter as I remembered.

Eh? Whit?

Rooibos is some sort of miracle tea;

"Japanese scientists found that it has..... estrogenic activity"
which for me is an unwanted side affect and I've been drinking the stuff for years.
Maybe I should try Abinsthe.

You did miss the word 'potential ' immediately' prior to 'estrogenic ', I have to say. Although, given that that's Proper Scientist talk for 'Well, we think so anyway', you're forgiven.

I started drinking Rooibos because I lked it. The vast majority of the papers cited in that article are a a nice wee bonus - I doubt there'll be any eulogising of the health benefits of Laphroaig any time soon.

I'm not seeing anything in there that greatly alarms me. Which is nice.

Soya products, on the other hand, are generally sold here for their supposed health benefits. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Laphroaig has lots of natural ingredients,no nasty additives and a good healthy dose of alciiihol ;)
Without turning this thread into Whit's Fur Tea and Do You Know It's Killing You - I had hormone related cancer six years ago and after coming through it I read all the theories on how I got it and how not to get it again.
According to some I was supposed to eat raw foods,buy expensive equipment to purify my tap water,never have a kit kat again,learn to put commas in my posts etc etc I did all that apart from the water purifier for about a week.
I do believe however that what we're putting in our gobs and how we're preparing it ie microwaving certain plastics can't be overlooked as having potential cancer causing properties so I worry about some things and overlook others - bit like life :D

Anyway all I mean't to type was;
I love Rooibos too but I've kicked it - Bugger

I enjoyed those books but haven't read the Scotland Street novels.
It was my aunt in Glasgow who started me reading Alexander McCall Smith.

I don't know what I want for tea :-|

I think I'd like some soup since time's marching on... so I could go with parsnip & carrot... or broccoli & cauliflower... or leek & potato. I'm decisionless. Also I need to make soup for lunches this week so I can continue saving my pennies and losing the weight. One kilo & counting :D
