Well done, Duck! I have to admit that one had me guessing for a while. We all assume that a surgeon is male which of course is wrong.

Does that make me sexist?

Maybe like most riddles I was just looking too hard for the twist.

A Farmer is returning from market, he has with him his dog, a goose that he has bought, and a bag of grain.
On the way home he has to cross a river by boat, and the small boat can only take the Farmer and one other item at a time. The problem is if he leaves the goose with the grain, the goose will eat the grain. If he leaves the dog with the goose the dog will chase the goose. How does he get all three back to the farm

Takes the goose across first. Second trip brings across the dog and
returns with the goose. Next takes across the grain and leaves grain
with the dog. Back across and returns on final trip with the goose.
