I'd had a you tube version of Baby by Billy MacKenzie rumbling
away in the background, when I noticed that some of the
video is filmed at Scotland Street School.


Separately, my Grandfather's Wee Brother attended this school, sometime
around WW1, and lost the sight of one eye in a pea shooter incident there.
Therefore when my Grandmother said "You'll have somebody's eye out"
she spoke from the sad experience of her Brother in Law.

Naming was obviously up for discussion since there was already a university in most of the towns with polys (?pollies? poly's?). There was a rumour (briefly) that Newcastle Poly was going to follow an established precedent and call itself the City University of Newcastle-on-Tyne.
