I hadn't heard of IS until a few weeks ago when I saw him as support to Jack Bruce at the south bank centre. Gravelly voiced singer, on his own (mostly) here in an acoustic cd. Worth a listen if you like Tom Waits style.

Sarah Jarosz: Follow Me Down.
A bit country / folky / singer songwriter. Good summer CD.

Nick Cave: Murder Ballads.
One of my favourite singers. In Bad Seeds & Grinderman modes. I'm told there are 42 murders in Murder Ballads.

Me too. Without the Sunday papers bit. There are no decent Sunday nespapers, with the possible exception of the Independent on Sunday, which it's more or less impossible to buy anyway, unless you get up at 5 a.m. or have it on order.

I liked that "We got married in a fever..." duet.
