A product which is connected with Israel may not be too welcome in an Arab country, hence the name change.

My favourite way of eating Jaffa Cakes, is to get two, eat all around the edges, bite off the bottoms, and join the remaining chocolate, & orangey bits of both together, to make a mini sandwich of chocolate and orangey bits, with none of the useless cake bit :)

I love Jaffa Cakes - in fact my two year old neice also likes them, but the little darling that she is grassed me in to her mother that "uncle brian was eating Molly's cakes!"

A collegue at work tells me of a chip shop in Edinburgh which sells Deep Fried Jaffa Cakes - which is just wrong

Bollocks, it's definitely a cake and I'll deck anyone who says it isn't.

Right, enough of this nonsense. It's a biscuit! Let me expand. You buy them in Tescos next to the chocolate Hob-nobs and just beneath the Rich Tea (occasionally the Mint Viscounts, but I digress). These, I'm sure, we would agree are biscuits.

You do NOT find them with the Walls Rich Chocolate Gatuea or even, at a push, the Fondant Fancies. Whilst these may be tasty treats they are quite clearly treats of the cake variety. There's not a Jaffa "biscuit" in sight until you get to the BISCUIT aisle.

Trust me! I have done extensive research on this subject.

Should Jaffa Cakes not be in a class of their own? Neither cake nor biscuit, more biscake or cakeit?
