Boredom Thread: What advert drives you insane?

The Audi concept was ok, but the idea of sticking a needle in the corner of a display to draw a liquid sample... trashed the suspension of reality before it even started.

They could've done an espionage theme, black ops, car in secret location, night/dark, stealing paint chips, fabric samples, fluids (yes, but from transmission, sump etc.)

Just seems a waste of a good idea, and as I always say, somebody got paid for it.

There's this ad for Lynx 24/7 deodorant on a lot just now. It shows a hot burd and a bloke of questionable masculinity waking up in bed, then walking to a supermarket where they met up, getting dressed in the process. As if that wasn't irritating enough, it's all accompanied by an awful rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". A song I was never that keen on in the first place, now worse.

Whoever thought that steaming pile of horse manure was better than the advert for Lynx Recover shower gel should be taken out and shot.

Fair play to the guy in the advert though for remembering to spray both armpits.

Found another TV centred site:

http://www.tvwhirl.co.uk/

However, this one deserves a mention in here as it invites nominations for worst TV ad of the month. Strangely enough, one or two of the nominees in here have won that poll.

They even have a Worst Ad forum.

The advert with the wee car driving underwater being shadowed by a big sub with three smiley happy people in it. The bloody tune does my head in.

What is it with these idiots behind the Foolspeed ads? Now we have a pair of silver Nissans shadowing each other, one driven sensibly, one driven badly, until the cops stop it. Do they comment on the bad driving, which is what would actually cause an accident, regardless of the speed? No, all they do close with a Foolspeed graphic over the closing scene.

What a waste.

Apollo, you appear to have hit the submit button too soon as you omitted the words "of our money." from the end of that sentence.
There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is generally adopted.

.. but the products: Tunnocks Caramel Wafer/Tea cake and Caramel Log are outstanding :)
On a wee side note has anyone tried
The Tunnocks Meringue Finger’s? Sometimes found in Henry Healy’s. The only other place that sells them is a small bakery that’s in The Forge Market (Fri, Sat, Sun) you get 5 for a pound.
......seek them oot for yer tea break.. Simply outstanding :)

That one's a bad advert for the Forge Market.

You can buy most of the Tunnock's stuff cheaper in most of the shop in Shettleston now.

Sir Roger DeLodgerley
That too, but just a waste in principle, since they've made such a monumental howling cock-up by trying to ostracise speeding in the same way as drink-driving, and compounded it with the scamera campaign. While it would be more productive to target bad driving or driving improvement, you're not allowed to say so, or they just trot out some poor bugger's family to tearfully hail 'Speed Cameras' as a 'Good Thing' if they prevent just one death.

I'd prefer to support something that prevented slightly more than one.

The post I meant to make:

Another dreadfully dubbed one. Scooters being advertised as Buy One Get One Free, by none other that the cold and calculating Avon from Blake's 7, well, Paul Darrow in real life, scooting around a shopping centre somewhere.

The awful air freshener one, with the moronic family waiting for the puff. They all look like they've been puffing something else, specially that scary wee lassie.
