I've got a bit of a strange problem with msn that makes no sense to me whatsoever. When a conversation is started with a certain person he receives none of my messages. If I start the conversation I think he gets the first, but not after that. Strangely though if I choose to use Windows messenger instead everything works ok. As far as I know it only happens with this one person. Anyone come across this before?

I've been having problems with the pile of s**t that is MSN Messenger 7.5 for a few weeks - always taking ages to sign in.
Just tried allyharp's suggestion of using Windows Messenger and I got signed in right away

Can someone help me? (Mac user)
Everytime I try to sign into MSN Messenger now I get a message saying a newer version is available. Two choices download now or no. If I download now, it just goes back to same message (yes - tried restarting). If I do no, then it goes back to sign on screen with same message saying new version available.
Yes pile of crap but it's the only way I communicate with my far flung and dysfunctional family.....

I switched recently to Yahoo! Messenger after MSN wouldn't let me sign in unless I downloaded an 'update'. God knows what was in it! Anyway, the compulsary nature of the download made me say "Fuck you MSN" and I've gone over to one of their competitors.
I've also abandoned my Hotmail account for a Gmail one.
Both much better than MSN, btw.
