Oh, how I wish my family would just bugger off and leave me in peace.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I find that peoples relatives can sometimes interfere in others lives but they think they are being well meaning.

The older i get the more I think I have to stand up for myself.
I don't like being pressurised into doing things I am not comfortable with.

Completely agree Dot.

I got home from work today to find that my brother had let himself in with the spare keys and was bagging up some of our late mum's stuff.

He then gave me a list of stuff I was to do, then buggered off saying he'd be back tomorrow.

It annoys me he didn't phone ahead and ask beforehand.

It can be difficult getting rid of a loved one's belongings but sometimes therapeutic.

When my father died there were a number of small pictures in the hall of his home and I wasn't sure what to do with them.
A lady we knew had a brother who was working with others to open a place for ex servicemen.
My Dad had served in the army in World War II and she asked me what I was going to do with them.
I said probably donate to charity shop but she asked if she could have them for the home.
I like to think that my Dad would have been more than happy with the new location.

I may be in a minority but I noticed when I was out doing my food shop on Saturday someone had those divider things that go in a trolley. Haven't seen anybody using them for a while.
Is the idea you would put raw meat/fish in one with other uncooked foods and then may have one for dairy products like milk, yogurt along with cheese in another divider.
What about the other ones then?
Maybe one for non perishable items or things with a longer shelf life and then would last one be for fruit and vegetables?

Does anyone on here use them at all?

Can't say as I do, Dot, no.

I'm more of a ready meals kind of person.

What I do do is sort of compartmentalise my shopping in the trolley.
Bottles of milk, apple juice etc. at the back and right.
Newspapers/magazines etc. back left.
Ready meals etc. in front of that.

Well I don't cook from scratch as often as I think I should.

I tend to buy things that you can put in the oven like a ready made lasagne or maybe a Roast Chicken or salmon, baked potatoes. Salmon getting dearer like many other things and I like chicken from one supermarket better than others for taste and price.
Also buy pizza and garlic bread now and then and hubby likes sausage rolls with baked beans so we have that sometimes.
I would maybe cook a pot of Chilli or make some Spaghetti Bolognese at weekend and no office to go to.
Like Irish Stew but haven't made it for ages as it takes a while to cook and takes a while to chop up all the veg.
Also like tuna dish which you top with crisps and do in oven but haven't made it recently.
Hubby puts tea on so it's ready roughly around time myself and son get home from work.
He's retired so I think once I retire I will need to make more effort.

A few people I know have bought air fryers as they think it works better price wise than using your oven.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a very picky eater. Always have been.

I know what I like, and I know what I don't like.

Well things I dislike are Jaffa Cakes, grapefruit juice, pineapple, liver and fatty bits on meat like steaks or chops.
Also loathe mussels and Panna Cotta and chicken legs. ::):

Perhaps I am too fussy.

I was walking from work tonight and I go down a busy street which has a number of shops and restaurants.
There I was minding my own business when a group of fellas came whizzing down the street and doing wheelies.
Perhaps I should say at this point the area is pedestrianised.
I quickly moved to one side but they very nearly knocked over a group of pensioners who were strolling along with some young children.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't want to stop people from having fun but this could have ended in catastrophe.

Hmm, yeah, I completely agree, Dot.

A couple of days ago I was waiting on a bus. I just happened to glance across the street, when two wee boys came whizzing down the hill on scooters - narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic.

Perhaps its time to revive the old Cycling Proficiency Test, and expand it to include scooters and whatnot?

Spleen,

You might have a point there.
I remember doing my Cycling Proficiency Test many moons ago and I think I was in a thing called The Tufty Club in
primary school. I think it was to encourage children to cross the roads safely and looking left and right etc.

I’m so sorry Dot didn’t know it was you I was breaking in the tyres on a new scooter for my father! Glad I missed you though!

That was a smashing blouse you were wearing!
