We've got "Guardians of the Galaxy" to come next in August, then "Avengers: Age of Ultron" next May. Phase Three begins with "Ant Man" next August.Botanic Squirrel wrote:It was way better than I expected. Best bit of all for me was the in-credit sequence at the end. I long for the days when baddies wore monocles, so this just made me SO pleased.
How it ties into Age of Ultron, thought, I just can't figure out.
Stan is The Man.

One I've often heard about but never got around to seeing. It's a genuinely creepy, low-budget take on 'what if the Nazi's conquered us.' There are the obligatory scenes of German soldiers sightseeing in Trafalgar Square and marching through the streets of London, but where it really chills is in scenes of the British SS Legion and the British Fascist collaborators who act as puppet governments of the Reich. Some of these characters were apparently real fascists, happy to air their views. ( There was one who gave a 'rights and responsibilities' speech that could have come out of the mouth of a modern Tory, which was unsettling and amusing ).
The story of the film follows a district nurse, evacuated to London, who is so sick of not being able to practice her skill that she joins the administration. This leads to all manner of moral dilemmas and a really chilling third act.
If it had any flaws, it was the USA riding to the rescue near the end. I'm not so sure this would have happened.

Oh! Oh! Does it have the one of the Nazi Stormtroopers doing the "Lambeth Walk"?
